On a windy day, you may hear whistling sounds, falling/rolling objects, or things rubbing against each other. But, those sounds are created only when the wind hits objects!
It can be caused by friction and wind knocking/rubbing things. Friction is when two things are rubbed together and can create heat or sound. When the wind rubs against objects like trees, the increased friction (when wind speeds are higher) can create a whistling sound! Wind can also knock things over and rub things together (a tree branch against a window). This also contributes to the sounds wind makes! This is how wind makes sound! They have to hit objects to make the sound!!
