January 26th Fact of the Day!!

Pumice is a type of rock that forms when magma from volcanoes rapidly cools. When that rock rapidly cools, the volacnic gas gets caught inside of the holes in the rock. That gas makes it less dense. When something is less dense than water, it floats! That is why pumice floats!
