Fact of the Day Image Feb. 7th

Why do octopuses have 3 hearts? It is because the hearts pump blood to different parts of their body. Two of the hearts move blood beyond the animal’s gills and the third heart circulates the blood to the other organs. The gills pick up Oxygen from the gills and the third heart distributes that blood to the rest of the body. That is why octopuses have 3 hearts!
