Fact of the Day Image Feb. 21st

The Grand Canyon was formed when the Colorao River eroded the rock forming the canyon! The Grand Canyon’s rocks are very old! This is because it took millions of years for the river to erode the rock. Erosion is when sediment is swept away by water or other natural agents. Since it took so long for the water to break the rock down and carry it away, the rocks at the bottom of the canyon are over 2 million years old!!
