Polar bears’ fur looks white to us, but it is actually transparent! The fur of a polar bear looks white because it reflects a lot of the light. That means that the fur appears white for us. This hair is just the first layer of the fur. Under that, is a more thick coat that helps keep the polar bear warm in the Arctic. This is why the polar bear’s colorless fur appears white to us!!!
