Fact of the Day Image Mar. 6th

The mantis shrimp can punch at a speed of 23 meters per second (or 50 miles per hour). This is not because of powerful muscles, but it is bcause of a natural “spring” inside of it’s arm. It’s arm is already spring-loaded, so when it’s prey is nearby, it can just punch the prey and eat it. This punch is so fast that is actually boils that water around it’s claw!!! That is one fast punch!
