May 6th Fact of the Day!!
Our Moon is a natural satellite. This is a natural object that orbits or circles around a planet or star. The Moon is believed to have been an irregular piece of our planet that got knocked off by a comet. The Moon has different phases that we see here from Earth! The Sun is always shining on one side of the Moon and we see the other side! The phases happen on the side that is facing us, but even when there is a new Moon, there is still 50% of the Moon illuminated. We just can’t see it! Check out the image below that shows you the phases of the Moon!
