At over 25 tons, the whale shark is the second largest fish in the world, and yet it’s fueled mostly by plankton, plants, and algae. You may think that since it has over 4,000 teeth that it eats other fish, but is actually just eats tiny sea plants! The whale shark is a filter feeder, which means that it filters out its food from the moving water in the ocean.
