Fact of the Day Image December 15th

Helium atoms are so light that they are able to escape Earth’s gravity! Whenever helium is extracted or released into the air on Earth, it escapes the Earth’s gravitational pull because the atoms are so light. This is what scientists are worried about. That is because the helium that keeps escaping will cause a helium shortage on Earth. Scientists are looking into ways to save this helium from exiting Earth’s atmosphere.
